In October, Kyiv topped the ranking for average salaries, surpassing other regions of Ukraine.
According to the State Statistics Service, the average salary of full-time employees in Ukraine increased by 1.1% in October, reaching 26,913 UAH. Kyiv traditionally took the leading position in terms of salary levels, with an average income of 40,738 UAH.
The second place in terms of average salary in October was occupied by Luhansk region with an indicator of 30,675 UAH, while Dnipropetrovsk closed the top three with 27,892 UAH. The lowest salaries were observed in Chernivtsi (19,343 UAH), Kirovohrad (19,920 UAH), and Chernihiv (20,561 UAH) regions.
The information and telecommunications sector showed the highest salary level – 65,047 UAH. However, education workers received an average of only 16,984 UAH, which was the lowest indicator among all sectors.
As of November 1, wage arrears in Ukraine reached 3.7 billion UAH. This causes concern among economists, who point to possible negative consequences for the domestic labor market.
In July this year, the average salary in Ukraine amounted to 20,455.65 UAH, which was 1,981.41 UAH less than the previous month. This downward trend in summer raised concerns, but by October salary growth resumed.
