In Ukraine, more than 150,000 citizens have already applied for the winter support program, which provides financial assistance to the most vulnerable categories of the population. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The winter support program, announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on November 1, offers a one-time payment of 1,000 hryvnias and an additional 6,500 hryvnias for those most in need of assistance during the winter period. Applications are accepted until December 17, 2025, through the “Diia” app and at Pension Fund offices. Funds can be spent within 180 days on warm clothing, shoes, medicines, and vitamins.
The Cabinet of Ministers expects that the program will be utilized by 10 to 14 million Ukrainians during the winter of 2025-2026. This is a significant step in supporting citizens amidst economic instability and deteriorating infrastructure conditions due to the war.
In the context of current changes, the government has also announced the introduction of new child payment conditions, which have not been changed since 2014. This may indicate the state’s intention to provide better social protection to its citizens during difficult economic conditions.
| Period | Amount, UAH | Category |
|---|---|---|
| From November 15, 2025 | 1000 | All Ukrainians |
| Until December 17, 2025 | 6500 | Most vulnerable categories |
Experts note that this initiative could significantly ease the financial burden for many households during the harsh winter months.
