Xi Jinping: The Chinese economy is capable of facing global challenges
China is confident in its economy’s ability to overcome challenges and risks, declared Chinese leader Xi Jinping during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Busan. Xi emphasized that the country’s economy remains robust and dynamic due to its substantial scale and potential.
During the talks held in the South Korean city of Busan, Xi Jinping presented the achievements of the Chinese economy over the recent period. He noted that China’s GDP growth for the first three quarters of the current year was 5.2%, and the global volume of imports and exports rose by 4%. The head of China emphasized that these figures were achieved despite both internal and external challenges faced by the country.
Xi assured that China does not seek global dominance, instead emphasizing joint development with all countries worldwide. According to him, China does not intend to challenge or replace anyone on the global stage but focuses on its development and cooperation with other nations.
For his part, Donald Trump described the talks with the Chinese leader as “amazing” and gave them a high rating of “12 out of 10 possible.” The meeting in Busan was the first significant event between the leaders of the two nations in the past six years, which could have a significant impact on future relations between China and the USA.
