Massive shelling by Russia led to train delays in Ukraine
Due to the massive shelling by Russia on October 24, the movement of rail transport in Ukraine was significantly disrupted. Delays and route changes are expected in several regions of the country, reported by “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
As a result of the night shelling in the Kirovohrad region, railway infrastructure was damaged, leading to delays in the movement of several trains. In particular, train No. 51/52 Odesa – Zaporizhzhia, No. 3127/128 Lviv – Zaporizhzhia, No. 7/8 Kharkiv – Odesa, and No. 53/54 Dnipro – Odesa are delayed by more than two hours. In the Kharkiv region, trains are also encountering delays and forced use of combined logistics.
Specifically, due to the attacks, the route of train No. 103/104 Kramatorsk – Lviv was changed, entering through Lozova. This train, despite the delay and detour, managed to evacuate 19 passengers with limited mobility and several animals. Overall, on October 24, trains No. 102 Kherson – Kramatorsk, No. 104 Lviv – Kramatorsk, and No. 712 Kyiv – Kramatorsk will pass through Merefa with a delay of about two hours.
In the Sumy region, combined transportation is being applied: passengers of train No. 787 Tereshchenska – Kyiv are being sent by bus to Konotop for transfer to train No. 779 Sumy – Kyiv.
Russian attacks have repeatedly caused significant disruptions in Ukraine’s power supply and railway operations. Due to this, power outage schedules have been introduced across the country, which first occurred since December 2024.
