The Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed about 100 Russian aerial bombs since the beginning of autumn.
Ukraine’s air forces continue to effectively neutralize the threat of Russian guided aerial bombs, successfully destroying about 100 such objects from September to November. New weaponry is being tested simultaneously to counter this threat.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from September to November 2023, around 100 Russian aerial bombs were destroyed by anti-aircraft missile troops. Although details of the new weaponry are not disclosed, its testing underscores the active search for means to enhance the effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defense.
Aside from aerial bombs, Russia uses jet drones. By the end of November, there were 138 recorded instances of the use of “Geran” unmanned aerial vehicles, most of which were successfully neutralized by Ukraine’s air defense. Previous intelligence reports indicated Russia’s plans to produce 4,000 of these drones by the end of 2025.
An expert from Defense Express noted in an interview with LIGA.net that Ukrainian systems regularly make a significant contribution to combating threats from the Russian Federation. The successful destruction of Russian aerial bombs and drones demonstrates the adaptability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their ability to effectively respond to new challenges.
