On the approaches to Kupiansk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the defense and blocking Russian supply routes – Syrskyi

Ukrainian troops are strengthening positions near Kupiansk, countering Russian propaganda.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian units are holding designated lines and intensifying fire influence on the occupiers to block their supply routes. Syrskyi considers this important for stabilizing the situation in the region and simultaneously indicates the scale of misinformation spread by the Russian leadership.

At a meeting in the Kharkiv region, Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized the complexity of the situation in Kupiansk, where military actions are marked by high dynamics. According to him, Ukrainian military continue not only defensive but also search-and-strike actions for effective deterring the enemy’s breakthrough. Syrskyi stressed that Russian occupiers attempting to penetrate the defense orders of Ukrainian forces are still being identified in the city.

Following the trip, Syrskyi listened to commanders’ reports on current needs and gave necessary instructions to ensure military units have everything they need. He also noted that Russian statements about the capture of Kupiansk do not correspond to reality — an increase in the number of Russian military in the city has not been observed recently.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has twice denied information about the capture of Kupiansk, noting that only a few dozen occupiers remain isolated from supplies in the city. This necessitates further actions for full territorial control.
