An officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine spoke about the specifics of the “Rubicon” unit, which has been identified as a priority target for Ukrainian defenders.
The “Rubicon” center is one of the most combat-ready drone units of the occupiers, thanks to political support, the protection of special services, and additional funding sources. The unit is characterized by a certain flexibility and focus on specific tasks, allowing it to achieve maximum effect. However, its “elite” status makes this group vulnerable to detection and destruction. An advantage for Ukraine is that “Rubicon” can be easily identified, which has been repeatedly used for its destruction.
The cyber community “Karakurt” highlights additional weaknesses of “Rubicon,” such as the unavailability of components due to sanctions, vulnerability to countermeasures, and the risk of “elite” degradation with rapid scaling. It is also known that Russian military intelligence is behind “Rubicon’s” operations, with Defense Minister Belousov personally playing a key role in management.
On November 4, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reported the successful destruction of the “Rubicon” headquarters in Avdiivka, Donetsk region. This is one of the numerous cases of effective work by Ukrainian defenders.
