Ukrainian military regained control over the city council building in Pokrovsk, pushing out Russian forces. The operation, conducted by the 425th separate assault regiment “Skala” with the participation of the 210th and 1st assault battalions, concluded with the installation of the Ukrainian flag on the building.
According to the military, the operation was divided into two phases: initially preparation, which included planning logistical routes and providing for personnel, followed by the implementation of the plan. Despite their vehicle being damaged by explosives, the teams managed to enter the city and neutralize the enemy. One group was ambushed, but drones assisted in neutralizing the adversary.
Representatives of the “Skala” regiment noted the effectiveness of the element of surprise, which allowed them to catch the enemy off guard and expel them from the building. Although movements of individual Russian units are still observed in Pokrovsk, they are assuredly quickly neutralized, the military confirmed. New units of the Ukrainian army continue to arrive in the city.
On November 1, it was reported that the Main Intelligence Directorate launched an airborne operation in the Pokrovsk area under the leadership of Budanov. Colonel-General Syrskyi emphasized that the city is currently not encircled or blocked, although logistics are complicated. The military states that transportation security is under control.
