Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and 164 drones: regions reported on the consequences.

Ukraine Repels Massive Drone and Missile Attack by Russia

On the night of October 18, the Ukrainian Air Force repelled an attack involving over 150 drones and three missiles launched by Russian forces. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 136 drones were destroyed or suppressed in various directions.

Russia launched the attack using three S-300 guided missiles and 164 strike drones, including “Shahed” and “Herbera,” from the territory of the Kursk region and other regions of the Russian Federation. Ukraine’s air defense forces, employing aviation, missile troops, electronic warfare, and mobile groups, destroyed a large part of the drones. However, some enemy drones hit 12 targets in the east, south, and north of Ukraine.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, several fires broke out as a result of the attack. Vehicles and infrastructure were damaged, but there were no casualties. In the Poltava region, a drone explosion damaged a warehouse, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. In the Cherkasy region, seven drones were neutralized with no casualties, although residential buildings sustained damage.

Kramatorsk was also targeted by drone strikes, which damaged warehouse buildings, but there were no reports of casualties. The previous day, Mykolaiv was attacked for the first time with guided aerial bombs, and Kryvyi Rih was targeted by drones.

Despite the effective efforts of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, the persistent Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages continue to pose a significant threat to the civilian population and the country’s critical infrastructure. Experts believe these attacks aim to exhaust Ukrainian forces and undermine the morale of the population.
