Ukraine repels drone and missile attack: 18 objects damaged

On the night of December 13, Ukraine’s defense forces faced a massive attack from Russia, repelling most of the more than four hundred launched drones and missiles, but hits were recorded in 18 locations.

The attack began on the evening of December 12 and continued through the night of December 13, aimed at destroying critical infrastructure. The main strike was focused on the Odesa region. Overall, Ukrainian military detected and responded to 495 targets, including 30 missiles and hundreds of different types of drones.

The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 417 drones and 13 missiles were shot down or suppressed. However, as a result of the attack, 8 missiles and 33 drones reached their targets in 18 locations, including debris falling on three objects.

The attack led to significant damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Power outages were recorded in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, and there was a complete blackout in the right-bank part of the Kherson region. Over a million consumers were affected.

The massive attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups of the defense forces. According to representatives of the Ukrainian forces, six missiles did not reach their targets, and their locations are currently being clarified.

First of all, the attack once again proves the complexity of the security situation in Ukraine and highlights the importance of increasing the country’s defense capabilities. Experts call for international support in strengthening air defenses.
