Ukraine discusses security guarantees with the USA and Europe
General Andriy Gnatov, together with representatives of the Ukrainian defense sector, will work on the details of security guarantees for Ukraine. President Zelensky is preparing for meetings with American and European partners to discuss the political agreement regarding peace.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his evening address on December 13 that General Andriy Gnatov, along with representatives of the country’s defense sector, is working on the details of establishing security guarantees for Ukraine. These measures are part of a broader strategy to ensure stability in the region after the current conflict ends.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of upcoming negotiations with representatives of the USA and European partners, which will take place in Berlin. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss the political aspects of ending the conflict, in particular, the necessity to prevent further possible interventions from Russia.
Previously, the president noted that the USA proposes the creation of a “free economic zone” or “demilitarized zone” in Donbas as part of the peace plan. Washington insists on signing a framework peace agreement before a full ceasefire.
According to experts, these negotiations could become key in determining Ukraine’s future. Security guarantees and a recovery plan are priority directions for the executive branch, which can ensure the country’s stable development.
