U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that American aid to Ukraine under the administrations of Joe Biden and Donald Trump had been critical to preserving its sovereignty. He also rejected claims by Ukrainian officials that Washington had limited or halted its support for Kyiv.
Clash Report published a video of Rubio’s comments. According to the secretary of state, no other country has provided Ukraine with as much assistance as the United States.
“What Ukrainian leaders continue to claim is also untrue. I do not know exactly who this official in the Ukrainian government was who began saying that many people died because America denied them something.”

Rubio said that the assistance the United States has already provided during the full-scale war has saved many millions of lives. He also expressed the view that without this support, Ukraine might not have survived as a sovereign state.
“If it were not for the assistance of the United States, including under the Trump administration, Ukraine would not exist today. Ukraine would not exist as a sovereign state.”

The secretary of state praised the courage of Ukrainian defenders resisting Russian aggression and linked their achievements to U.S. support.
“They have shown truly great courage in fighting for their country, and they have achieved extraordinary results thanks to the assistance we provide them.”

Zelenskyy’s Statements and Conversation With Rubio
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would remain an independent state even without U.S. assistance. At the same time, he said that in such a case, there would be problems with forcing Russian dictator Vladimir Putin into peace.
The day before, Zelenskyy held a phone call with Rubio. Among other things, the sides discussed intelligence data, communications issues, Starlink, and delays in the delivery of interceptors for Patriot systems.
After the talks, the president said that the system for transferring intelligence data from the United States was already operational. Earlier, Ukraine had several times failed to receive early warning from the United States about missile launches during Russian ballistic strikes.
