Partnership of LIGA.net and Dyvoshyv: limited edition embroidered T-shirts in honor of Khmelnytsky
LIGA.net, together with the Ukrainian brand Dyvoshyv, has released a limited collection of T-shirts with embroidery inspired by the mace of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. This is part of the special project “Business of Forgotten Ancestors,” which explores lesser-known pages of Ukrainian history and elevates the uniqueness of national heritage.
The capsule collection was created thanks to carefully recreated embroideries that Dyvoshyv craftsmen adapted from a 17th-century portrait of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. This portrait is kept in the Chernihiv Regional Historical Museum named after V. Tarnovsky. The ornament for the T-shirts is based on a baroque floral pattern symbolizing vitality, rebirth, and wisdom. The Hetman’s signature, delicately embroidered under the ornament, gives the item special historical significance.
Olga Bondarenko, founder and creative director of Dyvoshyv, notes that the idea arose during research on the Hetman era. She sees symbolic power in the embroidered mace, which can “restore” Ukraine’s strength and spirit of statehood. Craftsmen worked with museum materials and baroque proportions to achieve high authenticity while maintaining modernity in design.
This project carries important significance in cultural and economic context. According to Natalia Koteneva, CEO of Ligamedia, the “Business of Forgotten Ancestors” project aims to return the names of past entrepreneurs to Ukrainian history, reminding of economic independence as an integral part of national identity.
The T-shirts are already available for purchase in the fan shop of LIGA.net, and as Olga Bondarenko emphasizes, this is not just clothing — it is a part of living history, highlighting the connection with the past and the strength of Ukrainian tradition.
