In a week, the Defense Forces liberated about 11.5 km² in Pokrovsk – Syrskyi

Ukrainian forces are actively working to restore control in the Donetsk region

In the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted operations to search for and destroy the occupiers over an area of about 11.5 square kilometers, reported the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

During a working visit and meeting with the military on the Pokrovsk direction, Syrskyi emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to the defense of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and the surrounding areas. The main tasks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain unchanged: to defend positions, detect and destroy the maximum number of occupiers and their equipment, disrupt enemy logistics, and operate in the air. To regain lost positions, Ukrainian units are conducting active actions, including defending against attempts at assaults by small infantry groups.

Syrskyi confirmed that Russian forces have been forced to involve an operational reserve in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration area. They are trying to change attack directions and are using infiltration tactics, particularly disguising their actions as the civilian population or using it as a cover.

At the meeting, they also discussed strengthening Ukrainian units and the coordinated use of reserves. Special attention was given to ensuring the advancement of Ukrainian assault units. The actions of the Ukrainian side complicate further attacks using armored vehicles by the enemy, which has reduced the number of such assaults.
