Telegram launches Stories: what to expect for users
On July 20, 2023, Telegram introduced a new format — Stories, available to all users. Initially, this feature was offered only to Premium subscription holders, but now all users can view stories.
The new Stories format in Telegram allows posts from contacts to appear at the top of the chat list, above dialogs and search. The update automatically enables notifications for new stories, but users can easily disable them if they wish. Each story has individual privacy settings that allow users to control who can see them.
To disable notifications for stories, users can follow simple instructions that include navigating through the app settings and toggling the appropriate sliders. Additionally, if users do not wish to see stories from certain contacts, they can hide them using a special option.
Users can also delete already published stories. To do this, they need to open an active story, click on the menu in the upper right corner and select the “Delete” option.
The introduction of Stories in Telegram reflects the trend of many social networks adapting the short publication format. It allows users to share moments of their lives in a more interactive way. Experts predict that the new feature may lead to increased audience engagement and open up new opportunities for personalized content.
