Kupyansk: Russian forces are losing control in a difficult situation in the northern part of the city
The battle for control over Kupyansk remains difficult, but Russian military forces are gradually losing their positions. This was reported by the representative of the Joint Forces Viktor Tregubov during a telethon.
According to Tregubov, Putin previously claimed the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in Kupyansk, but these promises turned out to be premature. Currently, a reverse trend is observed: Russia is losing control over the city, especially in its northern areas, where a reduction in Russian presence is noted as of the morning of November 16. This has become the result of successful counter-sabotage actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The situation remains difficult for both sides due to the lack of proper logistics. Russian units are experiencing difficulties in receiving reinforcements and ammunition, while Ukrainian forces have better-established logistics. Volodymyr Voloshyn notes that the dynamics are changing in favor of the Ukrainian side, although it is too early to speak about final results.
On October 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a corridor for journalists near Kupyansk to demonstrate the “successes” of the Russian army, but the MFA of Ukraine urged not to trust this information. Recently, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that about 60 occupiers remain in the city and that clearance is underway.
