Russia attempted to assault the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ positions near the Antonovsky bridges
During the last day, the Russian army made several attempts to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the Antonovsky bridges, but did not succeed.
According to the representative of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, three failed attempts to advance occurred in the Pridneprovsky direction, where Russian troops tried to displace Ukrainian forces from the outskirts of the Antonovsky automobile bridge. In the morning of November 16, another assault attempt took place near the Antonovsky railway bridge. In addition, throughout the day, Russian troops launched attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using 40 unguided aviation rockets.
It is noteworthy that on November 15, Kherson also came under artillery fire from Russian troops. The city had previously been targeted: on October 29, a children’s hospital was hit, resulting in injuries to children and medical staff.
Despite the fact that on October 23, Russian propagandists reported a “landing” in Kherson, the Ukrainian Defense Forces denied this, providing evidence in the form of video materials.
Attacks on Kherson and its surroundings carry significant strategic importance due to the location of the Antonovsky bridges, which are vital transport arteries. Control over these objects could provide a military advantage to one of the sides.
