Prosecutor’s Office Investigates Possible Influence of Businessman Mindich Through Zelensky’s Call
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) presented recordings of phone conversations as possible evidence of businessman Timur Mindich’s influence on processes in Ukraine. In the conversation, President Volodymyr Zelensky called Herman Galushchenko, the Minister of Justice, and the participants discussed a text from the businessman.
The SAP prosecutor at the High Anti-Corruption Court meeting presented this conversation as direct evidence of Mindich’s influence. According to him, it was after the text message from Mindich that Zelensky contacted Galushchenko. Mindich claims that the call was a result of his SMS to the president. The prosecutor considers this a key moment that indicates the possible influence of the businessman.
In the context of the conversation, the participants discussed the content of the SMS between the president and the minister, but the audio recording was not provided, which does not give a full understanding of the intentions of the participants. Some of the participants’ remarks seem halfway humorous, complicating a full analysis.
It is worth noting that this scandal arose against the backdrop of the announcement of NABU’s “Midas” operation and President Zelensky’s first comment regarding the inevitability of punishment for corrupt officials.
Timur Mindich was known as a co-owner of the production studio “Kvartal 95” and a close friend of the president. Back in 2019, businessman Ihor Kolomoysky, describing his business interests, talked about partnering with Mindich in a number of projects. In 2020, journalists recorded Mindich visiting the President’s Office during the pandemic for charitable purposes. On November 11, 2025, Mindich, as well as a person known as Carlson, were charged by NABU with suspicion.
In the context of these events, Galushchenko was removed from his duties as Minister of Justice, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and its possible impact on the political stability of the country.
