In Ukraine, 43.6 million tons of grain have been harvested.

Ukrainian agrarians have harvested over 43.6 million tons of grain crops, processing 81% of the sown areas. These are the current harvest data reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy press service.

As of November 7, 2023, Ukrainian farmers have harvested 22.8 million tons of wheat and 5.3 million tons of barley. Corn harvesting reaches 53% of the sown areas, amounting to approximately 13.7 million tons. Additionally, total pea volumes amount to 660.7 thousand tons.

The leaders in harvesting remain Odesa, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Vinnytsia regions. Odesa region ensured the collection of 3.82 million tons of grain, while Chernihiv region collected 3.68 million tons. Poltava and Vinnytsia collected 3.43 and 3.28 million tons respectively.

In the oilseed crop segment, Ukraine harvested 16.35 million tons. Specifically, the sunflower harvest is 8.7 million tons, covering 90% of the sown areas. The soybean harvest reached 4.3 million tons (84% of the areas), while rapeseed harvesting completed with a figure of over 3.3 million tons.

Sugar beet harvesting currently amounts to 7.9 million tons, which covers 76% of the areas. This could affect the projected decline in agricultural production, which, by the results of the first half of the year, amounted to 18.5% compared to the same period last year. However, amid export activity, in October Ukraine increased its export volumes of agricultural products by 20.8% compared to the previous month.

Region Grain Harvest (million tons) Area (thousand ha)
Odesa 3.82 1,152.2
Chernihiv 3.68 539.7
Poltava 3.43 714.8
Vinnytsia 3.28 556.9

Thus, despite challenges, Ukraine’s agricultural sector demonstrates stable development, partly due to export activity. Further stabilization of production and exports could positively impact the country’s economic situation.
