It has been determined who will have the right to new payments for children.

From 2026, a new order of payments upon the birth of a child will be introduced in Ukraine

From January 1, 2026, a new procedure for providing state assistance upon the birth of a child will come into effect in Ukraine, under which a one-time payment will amount to 50,000 hryvnias.

This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, Lyudmyla Shemelynets, on the “Inter” TV channel. Payments of 50,000 hryvnias will be provided only to mothers who give birth after the established date. For children who will not be one year old by January 1, 2026, an additional assistance of 7,000 hryvnias is provided. These payments are guaranteed until the child reaches one year of age. After reaching one year of age, families will have the right to receive payments under the еЯсла program.

This law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in the second reading and as a whole, with 294 members of parliament voting for it. For the first time since 2014, the amount of assistance upon the birth of a child has been significantly revised, highlighting the importance of supporting families with young children during this challenging economic period.
