Ukraine experienced a monthly increase in airstrikes from Russia in October 2025
Russia significantly increased the number of guided bomb (GAB) strikes on Ukraine in October, marking a record monthly figure since the beginning of the year, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The ministry reported that throughout October, Russian forces carried out over 5328 strikes on military positions and frontline cities of Ukraine. This was the highest monthly figure for 2025. All these strikes are part of a broader trend of rising Russian aviation terror: since the beginning of 2025, the Russians have already dropped about 40,000 aerial bombs, which equals the figure for the entire 2024.
On October 24, during one of the strikes, the Odessa region was hit for the first time, where civilian infrastructure was damaged. The next day, representatives of the Ukrainian Air Force reported that the air defense is capable of intercepting Russian guided bombs, claiming that they do not pose a particular danger.
Experts note that such attacks can have a significant moral and economic impact on the country, particularly due to the destruction of critical infrastructure and settlements. Despite this, Ukrainian military continues to work on strengthening defense by employing the latest air defense systems.
