Tulsi Gabbard accused Reuters of spreading propaganda about the Russian threat
The US Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, dismissed reports of Russia’s possible aspiration to seize the entire Ukraine and parts of Europe, calling them “lies and propaganda.” She accused Reuters of deliberately spreading this information.
Recently, Reuters, based on data from six informed sources, reported on a warning from American intelligence regarding the intentions of Russia under the leadership of Vladimir Putin. According to this data, the Russian leader has not abandoned the goals of capturing Ukraine and restoring parts of Europe that once belonged to the Soviet Union.
Gabbard, in response to these reports, stated that such declarations are part of “hysteria” allegedly used to escalate the war. She also accused journalists of undermining the peace efforts of US President Donald Trump. Gabbard has been repeatedly criticized for disseminating pro-Russian statements and conspiracy theories regarding the conflict.
According to her, American intelligence reported that Russia is trying to avoid a large-scale war with NATO, and its ability to capture and occupy Ukraine is still limited. Similar assessments are made by other representatives of American intelligence. Meanwhile, the head of the GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, noted that Russia has postponed its plans to attack Europe to 2027, which may include the occupation of the Baltic countries.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasizes that Moscow continues to seek the complete occupation of Ukraine, and pressure on Russia is required through sanctions and other measures.
