President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited Kupiansk amid a successful counterattack by Ukrainian military in the area. During the visit, he greeted the servicemen and awarded them for their service.
In his video message, the president talked about the importance of stable results on the front for Ukraine’s diplomatic success. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the significance of strong positions on the domestic front, which positively influence international negotiations to end the war. He expressed gratitude to all Ukrainian warriors, noting that he is proud of their bravery.
During his stay in Kupiansk, the president visited the forward command post of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. Together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, he met with the military, congratulated them on the Day of the Ground Forces, and presented state awards.
After hearing a report on the defense of Kupiansk, Zelensky noted that the considerable Russian group north of the city is suffering defeats and is encircled. As of December 12, the group includes over 200 Russian military personnel, who have been fully blocked by Ukrainian forces.
