Trump confirmed the deadline for Ukraine regarding the peace plan
US President Donald Trump officially confirmed the deadline for Ukraine to accept the new peace plan. Ukraine must agree to the plan by next Thursday.
Donald Trump stated on Fox News that his administration insists on Ukraine’s final agreement to the 28-point plan developed by the White House to end the war by next Thursday. Previously, this deadline was reported by Reuters, citing anonymous sources who claimed that the US might cease its assistance to Ukraine if the agreement is not reached by November 27.
The Washington Post also reported that the Trump administration is pressuring Ukraine to sign the agreement by Thanksgiving; otherwise, Washington may change its plans regarding assistance to Ukraine in the war.
According to the new plan approved on November 20, Ukraine has to make significant concessions, such as relinquishing the Donbas territory and reducing the size of its Armed Forces to 600,000. Negotiations have been held confidentially, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already received the draft plan for consideration.
Experts note that this plan could impact the geopolitical balance in the region, but it raises concerns about long-term consequences for Ukraine.
