Ukrainian-Spanish Cooperation: New Production of Armored Vehicles in Madrid
The Scientific-Production Association “Practika” is entering into cooperation with the Spanish companies Tecnove and Escribano for joint production of armored vehicles. The production facility will be located in the town of Herencia, Spain, and will supply equipment to Ukraine and for the needs of Spain.
“Practika” and the companies Tecnove and Escribano have signed a memorandum of industrial cooperation, under which the production of armored vehicles will commence on Spanish territory. All work is planned to be carried out at the facility in Herencia, which is in the Madrid region. The plant will conduct large-block assembly of vehicles from components manufactured in Ukraine.
The finished products will include various models of vehicles, including multipurpose armored vehicles, fire support vehicles, as well as special vehicles such as ambulance vehicles, electronic warfare vehicles, command-post vehicles, and demilitarized platforms for demining.
The cooperation will be governed by the legislation of both countries, including export control regulations. Tecnove is known for its specialization in the production of special vehicles, equipped containers, and modular buildings, while Escribano provides high-tech solutions for defense and security.
The context of the cooperation is underscored by Spain’s recent announcement of a military aid package to Ukraine worth €615 million, which includes funding for weapons, PURL programs, and anti-drone technology through the European SAFE program.
