Zelensky: US Pressure May Force Russia to Compromise in War Against Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that continued pressure from the US and its allies might force Russia to make compromises in the war against Ukraine.
During a meeting with journalists on December 14, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has no direct contact with Russia, and receives information about the Russian side’s positions through the US. Negotiations between the delegations cover not only bilateral relations but also responses to signals from Moscow.
According to Zelensky, if the United States continues to exert pressure and demonstrates a desire to end the conflict, Russia, in his opinion, will be compelled to compromise. With Jared Kushner entering the US political landscape, the economic aspect gains weight in the discussion, and the talks are not only about the 20-point peace plan but also about Ukraine’s recovery and security guarantees. Interestingly, there is no official response from the US yet on the latest version of the peace plan.
