Statements about the capture of part of Kupiansk proved to be fake
The information about the capture of the left bank of the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region by Russian troops is not true. This was stated by the tenth army corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted the statements of Russian propagandists about the alleged “capture” and “encirclement” of Ukrainian troops in the Podoly area. A representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that during a special operation on November 16, the defenders did not find any occupiers in the specified areas. Regardless of the efforts made, the enemy was not found, even after checking every bush.
The city of Kupiansk is divided into left and right banks by the Oskil river. According to information received that same day, it became known that Russian occupying forces were ordered to simulate control over the territory by dropping Russian flags using drones. This information confirms that the Russians are gradually losing control over the city.
Experts note that such disinformation from Russian forces may indicate their attempts to maintain morale on their territory while concealing their losses. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military forces continue actions to restore control over territories previously occupied by the enemy.
