Ukrainian military repelled an attack by Russian forces on motorcycles near Pokrovsk
Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an attack by Russian troops who attempted to break through the defense near Pokrovsk using motorcycles and quad bikes. This success is part of a broader defense strategy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine aimed at maintaining control over key positions.
The 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that simultaneously with a mechanized assault in the southern part of Pokrovsk, Russian troops tried to break through in the direction of the village of Hryshyne with a column on motor vehicles. Ukrainian drones and artillery repelled the assault attempt, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The remnants of the Russian infantry were destroyed as they attempted to scatter in the fields and forest bands.
The village of Hryshyne, located to the northwest of Pokrovsk, has strategic significance for both sides of the conflict. Currently, the situation in the region remains tense, taking into account information about the almost complete encirclement of the town of Myrnohrad by Russian troops, as well as their use of guided aerial bombs.
At the beginning of December, the 38th Marine Brigade reported a difficult situation in this direction, and already on December 8, Ukrainian forces were forced to retreat to more advantageous positions near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. On December 13, Colonel General Syrskyi confirmed that in recent weeks the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained control of about 16 square kilometers to the north of Pokrovsk, indicating the effectiveness of the conducted operations.
