Locals call it a “human safari”: Jolie shared her impressions of the trip to Ukraine.

Angelina Jolie visited Ukraine for the second time to meet people in front-line areas

Hollywood actress and director Angelina Jolie visited Ukraine again, meeting with families in Mykolaiv and Kherson. She described the trip as risky due to the constant threat of enemy drones.

Jolie shared about her visit on social media, noting that residents of front-line areas are constantly facing the danger of drones. During the trip, she had to stop and wait while a drone flew overhead. The actress noted that she was wearing protective gear, while local residents live under such conditions constantly.

According to Jolie, locals have moved schools, clinics, and kindergartens into fortified basements, trying to adapt to the new conditions. Many of them expressed concern about the psychological burden of living under constant threat and fear of being forgotten by the international community.

The actress noted that it’s difficult for her to understand why in a world with such great diplomatic potential, it is not possible to protect civilians in Ukraine and in other hotspots like Sudan, Gaza, Yemen, and Congo. Jolie expressed admiration for local volunteer organizations that demonstrate courage in these conditions.

According to LIGA.net, this is Jolie’s second visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war, the previous one being in May 2022 in Lviv. During her stay in Kherson, the actress also visited children’s and regional hospitals, noting the anti-drone nets installed in some areas.
