Apple is testing new colors for the iPhone 18 Pro, narrowing the choice down to three shades. Insiders report that the company will choose only one of them.
Today it became known that Apple is considering releasing future iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models in one of three new colors. According to insider Instant Digital on Weibo, the company is testing burgundy, brown, and purple shades.
Burgundy could be the first red tone for Pro and Pro Max models, differing in depth from the standard (PRODUCT)RED. Brown would be new for Apple, which has never released an iPhone in such a color. Meanwhile, purple may return after being used in iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models under the name Deep Purple. However, it is expected that only one of these colors will be chosen for the upcoming flagships.
This choice is part of the company’s ongoing strategy, which analyzes which colors might attract consumer attention. The current iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are available in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue colors. It is unknown whether these shades will return in the next models.
Apple’s prospective color choices may influence trends in the smartphone industry, shaping demand for a certain aesthetic. Before the release of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in 2026, the company has enough time to make a final decision.
