Ukraine plans to increase the electricity transmission tariff from 2026
The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities announced an increase in the electricity transmission service tariff by 14.6% from January 1, 2026.
During a meeting held on November 4, the regulator adopted a preliminary decision to increase the transmission tariff for “Ukrenergo” to 786.74 UAH/MWh. In addition, the tariff component for fulfilling special obligations on the development of alternative energy will amount to 358.11 UAH/MWh. An increase in the dispatch management tariff by 11.3% is also planned, which will amount to 110.15 UAH/MWh.
The changes will take effect after final approval and will come into force on January 1, 2026. Currently, from the beginning of 2025, the transmission tariff is 686.23 UAH/MWh, and the dispatch tariff is 98.97 UAH/MWh.
The increase in tariffs is considered in the context of stabilizing the economic situation in the country. The National Bank previously noted that this step is necessary to stabilize the situation in the housing and utilities sector, especially following the impact of external factors such as military aggression from Russia.
