China Temporarily Lifts Export Restrictions for American Companies

China has announced the temporary lifting of export restrictions for 31 American companies, particularly in the defense and aerospace sectors, to implement the agreements reached during the latest trade talks.

The decision was announced by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC in the context of implementing the agreements reached at the trade talks in Kuala Lumpur. The list of companies for which restrictions will be temporarily lifted includes enterprises previously subjected to Chinese export controls. The restrictions involved the supply of dual-use goods, including rare earth metals.

It is noted that Chinese exporters planning to supply these goods to American firms will be required to submit relevant applications to the Ministry of Commerce of China. After document verification, companies that meet the requirements will receive export permits.

This move is part of a broader trade dialogue between the world’s two largest economies, which began following the introduction of numerous tariffs during the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump. Although some restrictions have been temporarily suspended, a 10% tariff on certain American goods, imposed in response to U.S. actions, remains in effect.
