Power Outage Schedules in Ukraine: Restrictions Planned for October 20
On October 20, power supply restriction schedules for the industry will be in effect across all regions of Ukraine from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, according to a statement from “Ukrenergo”. The reason for these restrictions is the aftermath of previous Russian strikes on energy infrastructure facilities.
“Ukrenergo” has stated that the situation in the energy system may change and urged citizens to follow updates on the official pages of regional energy companies. In the Chernihiv region, hourly blackouts for the population have already been implemented. These measures are a result of the resumption of Russian attacks on energy facilities after a pause.
Since October 10, Russian strikes have led to a partial blackout in Kyiv, leaving a significant part of the left bank of the capital without electricity and water. On October 15, emergency outages began in all regions of Ukraine, except for Chernihiv and Donetsk. These events also affected the western regions of the country.
Experts warn that in the event of further attacks, Ukraine’s energy system may face new challenges. This poses a threat to the uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers and requires the population to be prepared for potential disruptions.
