Russians do not have the capability to carry out a naval landing in Odesa and the region – center at the RNBO

Russian troops are intensively engaged in propaganda in Odesa amid attacks

Ukrainian officials state that Russia is intensifying propaganda in Odesa and the region amid air attacks aimed at creating a humanitarian crisis.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, assured that the threat of troop landings on the territory of Odesa cannot be realized by Russian occupiers. He emphasized that the region’s defense is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, under intensified attacks, Russia is using significant resources for air strikes and attempting to create a humanitarian catastrophe while actively engaging in propaganda at the local level. “It is important to endure; all efforts are directed towards recovery and ensuring safety,” Kovalenko noted.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that there would be no increase in fuel prices following the attacks on the bridge near the village of Mayaky, which connects the Odesa region. The bridge became a target of enemy attack on December 13, after which the situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency at the national level. On December 18, a Russian drone struck a car on the bridge, leading to the death of a woman and the hospitalization of her children.

Following this, traffic in the Dniester estuary area was blocked, complicating travel to Moldova, and access to border crossings in the western part of the region was restricted. Missile strikes by Russia damaged port infrastructure, resulting in casualties and injuries.
