Defense forces struck the Afipsky oil refinery and the Urupinsky oil depot in Russia, and there were also hits on occupied territories.

Strikes on key Russian facilities and occupied territories: new achievements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck important facilities in Russia and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine during a night operation on December 14. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fuel bases and elements of Russian air defense systems were damaged.

In Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, the Afipsky oil refinery was affected, which, according to Ukrainian military intentions, aims to reduce the enemy’s offensive potential. As a result of the strike, explosions and a large-scale fire began in the vicinity of the plant. The extent of the damage is currently being determined.

In the Volgograd region, the “Uryupinsk” oil depot was also attacked. Explosions and fires were reported at the facility, and the nearby population had been evacuated earlier due to emerging threats.

In the occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia, important military facilities, including electronic warfare stations, military unit control points, and unmanned complex laboratories, came under attack. In Crimea, two fuel bases and radar stations, including those for S-300/S-400 air defense systems, were damaged.

These operations are part of Ukraine’s strategy to reduce military potential and complicate logistical support for Russian troops. On December 11, similar strikes stopped the operations of a Russian oil production platform in the Caspian Sea, and on December 12, two more platforms and one of the largest refineries in Russia’s Yaroslavl region were attacked.

Data analysis indicates a new tactic by Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia, aimed at depleting the enemy’s resources and undermining its strategic reserves.
