One-third of Ukrainians predict the end of the war no earlier than 2027
More than a third of the surveyed Ukrainians believe that the war with Russia will end no earlier than 2027, while less than a quarter hope for a quicker resolution. These data were released by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
According to the survey results, only 9% of Ukrainians expect the conflict to end before the beginning of 2026, which is a decrease compared to 18% in September. Only 14% believe in the end of the war in the first half of 2026, which has remained almost unchanged compared to the previous month. Overall, no more than a quarter of Ukrainians consider the possibility of the war ending in the relatively near future.
Meanwhile, 32% of Ukrainians predict the end of the war in 2027 or later, which remains at the same level as in September. A significant number of respondents, namely 33%, are undecided on the issue, which is a significant increase compared to the previous month, when the figure was 23%.
Most Ukrainians, specifically 63%, are ready to endure the war for as long as it takes to achieve the result. This nearly matches the September figure of 62%. Meanwhile, 15% of respondents stated their readiness to endure the war for six months or a few months.
