Russians are transferring reserves near Pokrovsk – Syrskyi

Ukrainian forces strengthen defense in the Pokrovsk direction

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported on the difficult situation in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad direction, where Russian occupiers have strengthened their forces; however, the Ukrainian army continues to maintain defense.

During a working visit to the front line, Syrskyi emphasized that the enemy has intensified its actions by transferring additional reserves to this region. He also added that Ukrainian forces remain committed to their active defense tactics, which include conducting local operations to push the enemy out from certain areas and improve the operational situation.

Following the commanders’ reports, Syrskyi clarified the tasks for corps and unit commanders, focusing on maintaining logistical routes, improving coordination, and providing defenders with everything necessary. According to analysts from the DeepState project, the situation in the north of Pokrovsk and around Myrnohrad remains unpredictable, indicating active hostilities in the region.

Ukrainian military continues to carry out offensive operations, notably gaining control over the north of Pokrovsk in November. At the same time, on December 10, it became known that the “East” group repelled a mechanized assault by Russian forces, as evidenced by footage from the General Staff with the opponent’s burning column.

Date Event
December 4 Almost complete encirclement of Myrnohrad by Russian forces according to the 38th Separate Marine Brigade.
December 8 Confirmed withdrawal of Ukrainian troops in the Pokrovsk direction for position improvement.
December 10 Mechanized assault by Russian forces in Pokrovsk was repelled.
