Ukrainian special operations forces strike Russian ships in the Caspian Sea
Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, in collaboration with the rebel movement “Black Spark,” successfully conducted an operation in the Caspian Sea, striking two Russian ships carrying military equipment and machinery.
The operation took place in close proximity to the shores of the Republic of Kalmykia. With intelligence received from the “Black Spark” movement, Ukrainian forces were able to identify and neutralize the vessels “Composer Rachmaninoff” and “Askar-Sarija.” Both vessels are under US sanctions for participating in the transport of military cargo between Russia and Iran.
This operation is part of a broader campaign aimed at strengthening control over arms supply in the region and preventing further militarization of the conflict. An important aspect of the operation is that it was conducted in cooperation with local rebels, highlighting their role in countering aggression.
Recall that on December 11, Ukrainian drones struck the Filanovsky oil extraction platform, owned by “Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft.” This marked the first instance of Ukraine attacking Russian infrastructure related to oil extraction in the Caspian Sea.
