Ukraine, the USA, and European allies have concluded discussions on a peace plan in the United States. It is expected that American representatives will conduct the next talks with Russian special representative Kirill Dmitriev.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced the conclusion of a meeting with American and European partners, summarizing the results for the President of Ukraine. According to him, the delegation has agreed on further steps and future cooperation with Washington, although details remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, Russian representative Kirill Dmitriev has traveled to the USA, announcing his journey through social media. According to Western media, Dmitriev is set to meet with US envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, but will avoid contacts with Ukrainian negotiators.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated that Ukraine does not recognize its Donbas as Russian either de facto or de jure. Discussion on territory issues has not yet confirmed a consensus, but work continues on a document concerning security guarantees similar to Article 5 of NATO. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized progress in resolving the conflict, although he acknowledged that the most difficult issues are addressed last.
