The customs authorities of Ukraine seized goods worth UAH 966 million in 2025
In the first ten months of 2025, Ukrainian customs services detected over 8,000 customs rules violations totaling UAH 10.7 billion. This indicates a significant impact of customs efforts in combating smuggling.
According to the State Customs Service’s report, in 2,934 cases, items related to offenses were temporarily seized, amounting to UAH 966 million. Among the seized goods, industrial products hold the highest value, estimated at UAH 668 million, followed by vehicles worth UAH 169 million. Currency and food products were valued at UAH 69 million and UAH 60 million, respectively.
As for cases already reviewed, administrative fines totaling UAH 52 million were imposed in 1,777 of them, with UAH 51 million already collected into the state budget. Additionally, 4,613 cases related to customs rule violations amounting to more than UAH 10.3 billion have been submitted for court consideration. The court decisions led to the confiscation of goods and fines amounting to a total of UAH 4 billion.
Previously, a corruption scheme was uncovered at the Kyiv Customs, where officials created obstacles for vehicle customs clearance to receive monetary rewards from entrepreneurs.
