Ukrainian Troops Halt Enemy Offensive: Over 2,000 Captured Since Beginning of the Year
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully thwarted the Russian military’s spring-summer offensive, inflicting significant losses on various fronts. The General Staff reported the capture of more than 2,000 occupiers since the beginning of the year.
In recent months, Russia has attempted an active offensive against Ukrainian positions, but its strategies have proven ineffective. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops have suffered significant losses in both equipment and personnel, with their plans being frequently postponed or revised due to failures. Ukrainian defense forces are counterattacking at specific front sections, recording successes in pushing the enemy from Sumy and Pokrovsk regions, as well as in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the General Staff, in September, Russian forces lost nearly 29,000 soldiers, 70 tanks, and a significant amount of armored vehicles and artillery systems. On October 2, Ukrainian forces gained an advantage near Kupiansk, destroying enemy equipment and soldiers. Meanwhile, NATO considers the likelihood of Ukrainian defensive lines collapsing to be low, despite isolated Russian successes.
Analysts note that the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in holding back the enemy is crucial for stabilizing the front and maintaining strategic initiative. Additionally, ally support is a key factor in the further actions of Ukrainian military forces.
