Inflation in Ukraine has slowed down, but food prices are rising.
The State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported that in October 2025, consumer prices rose by 0.9% compared to September. Despite the overall slowdown in inflation to 10.9% year-on-year, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages continue to rise.
Last month, eggs and vegetables saw the highest price increases, with prices up by 11% and 10.4%, respectively. Overall, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.6%. However, fruits, sugar, rice, and pasta decreased in price by 0.2%-2.6%. There was also a recorded increase in prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products by 1.5%, particularly tobacco, which increased by 2.2%.
Changes in transportation pricing policy were minor. Road passenger transport fares increased by 0.6%, while rail transport became 5% cheaper. The National Bank earlier revised the inflation forecast for the current year, improving its expectation to 9.2% from 9.7%.
