“I did not learn to live without arms, I just lived”: The story of veteran Yevhen Kholodnytskyi

A Ukrainian veteran has learned to live and travel without both arms after severe injuries

Yevhen Kholodnytskyi from Chernihiv region, who lost both arms and an eye as a result of combat, demonstrates incredible resilience by leading an active life and sharing his story on a blog on TikTok.

Yevhen Kholodnytskyi volunteered to go to the front at the age of 19, where he suffered severe injuries that left him without arms and one eye. Despite this, he not only learned to live independently but also continues to actively spend time and travel by car, driving without using his arms. His activities include daily 20-kilometer runs and taking care of a dog. On his TikTok page, he shares his daily experiences, having over 34,000 followers.

According to Yevhen, life after amputation required significant adaptation, but he is grateful for the opportunity to show others that life goes on regardless of physical limitations. His story not only inspires but also makes one ponder the resilience and strength of the human spirit.

The phenomenon of attention to Yevhen’s story can be explained by his ability to inspire other people who have also faced challenges in life. Experts say that such popularity can become a powerful tool for the social adaptation of veterans and people with disabilities.
