The government has eased the import of components for the production of weapons and equipment.

The Ukrainian government has simplified the importation of foreign components for defense equipment.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution to facilitate the import of components for the production of defense equipment by easing customs clearance. This decision aims to remove bureaucratic barriers for the country’s defense enterprises.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the simplification of procedures for defense sector enterprises, co-executors of state contracts, and subcontractors in the field of defense procurement. In particular, the requirement to provide a number of documents during customs clearance of materials, units, and equipment imported for the production of weapons has been abolished. The required documents will now be simply reflected in the customs declaration and will be provided only at the request of customs authorities.

Additionally, it is allowed to submit classified documents in the appropriate mode and add additional information to the customs declaration. Exceptions also pertain to the requirement to submit copies of contracts, technical passports, and other accompanying documents in advance.

These changes are aimed at accelerating logistics and production processes, which are crucial for the rapid delivery of finished products to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. By simplifying customs procedures, manufacturers will be able to provide defense equipment to troops more quickly and increase its production volumes.

It should be recalled that in previous years the Cabinet of Ministers has already taken similar steps aimed at optimizing the production of ammunition and explosives for manufacturers without state contracts.
