In Lviv, as of May 16, fares for public transport will increase. The new maximum fare reaches 30 UAH per ride when paying with cash.
The Lviv City Council has released new fares for public transport users. From now on, when paying for public transport in Lviv, passengers must consider different payment methods that affect the final cost: when paying with a student LeoKart, expenses will amount to 11.5 UAH, with the application or general LeoKart — 23 UAH, with a bank card or through a smartphone with NFC support — 26 UAH, and with cash — 30 UAH. In addition, the cost of transporting luggage ranges from 23 to 30 UAH depending on the method of payment.
The City Council also provides information on subscription costs: a student pass for all types of transport is 575 UAH, and a general pass is 1150 UAH. The penalty for traveling without a ticket is 520 UAH.
The reason for the fare increase is the change in fuel prices. According to the City Council, the price of diesel fuel has almost doubled over the past year — from 48 UAH to over 90 UAH per liter. Recall, in Kyiv, an increase in fare cost is also planned, associated with the introduction of commission fees.
