Combat brigades will receive recruits using a new approach: Palisa’s explanation

In the Ukrainian army, the distribution of recruits among combat brigades is being reformed

Ukraine is changing its approach to the distribution of recruits in the army by introducing training directly in combat units. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Colonel Pavlo Palytsa.

Colonel Pavlo Palytsa noted that each combat brigade should receive a predictable number of recruits who must know their unit and commander from the first days. This will help recruits adapt faster and prepare to fulfill tasks within the unit.

According to Palytsa, there are many brigades that already have their own training capabilities, including instructors and a material base, which need strengthening. It is also important to create training opportunities in units that do not yet have them.

Although training centers will remain, their role may change during the transition period. Commanders have repeatedly emphasized the importance of fair and predictable distribution, which will allow better planning of training and rotations.

At the beginning of December, a joint meeting is planned with the Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov to coordinate figures, mechanisms, and stages of implementing the innovations. At the next meeting of the Staff, solution options will be presented for consideration by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
