Drone attack damaged civilian buildings in Cheboksary, Chuvashia
On the night of November 26, a series of drone attacks hit an area in Cheboksary, possibly damaging a factory producing systems for the Iskander and Shahed military complexes, according to local resources.
According to the head of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolayev, the attack damaged two residential buildings, injuring two people, including a teenager. However, he did not mention damage to an industrial facility. Social media reports mentioned numerous explosions and video footage of the drone strikes.
The resource ASTRA, analyzing video recordings, indicates possible damage to the VNIIR-Progress enterprise, which produces the Comet systems for the cruise modification of the Iskander and Shahed-type drones. A fire also broke out on the spot, destroying a 12-story building. It is worth noting that this enterprise was already hit by Ukrainian forces on July 5. The distance from the Ukrainian border to Cheboksary exceeds 1200 km.
Earlier, during the night of November 24 to 25, Ukraine carried out strikes on Russian territories using Neptune missiles and Bars drones, which led to the damage of the Russian experimental A-60 aircraft and a landing ship in the port of Novorossiysk.
