Trump Rejects Specific Dates for Peace Agreement
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that there are no specific deadlines for concluding a “peace agreement” regarding the settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He said this while speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One.
When asked whether the date of November 27, which earlier was mentioned as a deadline for the adoption of a “peace plan,” remains relevant, Trump replied that there are no deadlines. “I don’t have a deadline. You know what a deadline is for me? When everything is over,” Trump noted. He emphasized that everyone is tired of the war and losing many people.
In the same discussion, the head of the White House called the conversation between U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov “standard practice.” During the dialogue, the American representative advised the Russian on further presenting the “peace agreement” proposals to the U.S. President.
On November 25, Trump stated that the parties are close to concluding a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. On the same day, he instructed the U.S. special representative Steve Witkoff to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to meet with the Ukrainian side.
