The Cabinet of Ministers has kept existing preferential gas prices for households and heat producers in place until March 31, through the end of the heating season. Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced the decision.
According to him, the government made the decision amid a moratorium on tariff increases introduced by parliament for the duration of martial law, as well as in view of the difficult socio-economic situation in the country.

Prices for households will remain unchanged
First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said that gas prices for households will remain unchanged throughout the autumn-winter period.
Currently, gas from Naftogaz costs UAH 7.96 per cubic metre for most household consumers. The current “Fixed” tariff plan will remain in effect until the end of March 2027.
The decision also provides for maintaining preferential tariffs for heat supply companies, extending the terms for the sale of natural gas to gas distribution system operators, and for cogeneration in frontline areas.
“This will also make it possible to maintain preferential tariffs for heat supply companies and extend the terms for the sale of natural gas to gas distribution system operators and for cogeneration in frontline areas.”

According to Shmyhal, the decision is intended to ensure reliable and uninterrupted natural gas supplies, the security and reliable operation of the natural gas market, as well as the stable functioning of heating facilities and Ukraine’s energy system as a whole.
Tariff policy and gas reserves
Koretskyi said that, in fulfilment of commitments to international partners, the government is working with other authorities to improve the tariff policy system. This involves introducing fair and transparent tariff-setting while increasing targeted assistance to those who genuinely need it.
It was also reported that Ukraine has already accumulated sufficient gas reserves to get through the winter. The target level for filling underground gas storage facilities was reached a month ahead of schedule.
