Drone attack caused explosions in the Krasnodar region
On the night of December 17, the Krasnodar region experienced a new drone attack, which resulted in damage to several residential buildings. Two people are reported injured.
According to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region, drone debris fell, particularly in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, causing damage to at least five private houses and the injury of two individuals. Local public sources report a fire in the area of the Slavyansk oil refinery, which had previously been subjected to attacks.
The regional governor, Veniamin Kondratiev, did not provide any comments on this matter, although the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have downed 94 drones in total, of which 31 were over the territory of the Krasnodar region. September was rich in similar incidents: two days prior, defense forces attacked oil refineries in Afips and Uryupinsk, as well as key targets in Crimea.
Western analysts note that such attacks could significantly impact the Russian economy, hindering its energy potential. Experts point out the importance of such actions in the strategic game around energy resources, which are becoming crucial in light of current sanctions and geopolitical tensions.
